Designing 6G Networks – Tech Tuesday with KTH

There are many grand visions for a digitalized society with smart homes, cities, transportation and factories. Digitalization can hopefully make our society more resource-efficient and sustainable. However, the backbone of digitalization is that we and all our appliances can be wirelessly connected everywhere, and current 5G networks are not supporting that. In this Tech Tuesday talk, Emil Björnson will explain how his team at KTH is designing 6G technology that improves mobile coverage and increases the worst-case data speeds, instead of the best-case speeds that have been the focus of the past.

Speaker biography
Emil Björnson is a Professor of Wireless Communication at KTH and belongs to the 0.1% of most highly cited researchers in the world. He has a podcast and YouTube channel called ”Wireless Future” where he explains wireless technology to his 20 thousand subscribers. He is an IEEE Fellow, Digital Futures Fellow, and Wallenberg Academy Fellow, and has received numerous awards including the 2022 Tage Erlander’s Prize in natural sciences and technology.
