Kista Science City is happy to welcome Stockholm Data Parks!

Stockholm Data Parks is an initiative by the City of Stockholm, district heating and cooling provider Fortum Värme, power grid operator Ellevio and dark fiber provider Stokab. The initiative is a long-term commitment to make Stockholm an attractive hub for large data centers that employ heat recovery. The first Data Park with initial sites will be in Kista, the technology hub of Stockholm.

Kista offers very attractive conditions for large-scale data halls,  Kista is one of Europe’s most important ICT cluster, while the opportunities for large, scale heat recovery make the site unique in order to build green data halls, says Matthias Ganslandt, CEO of Multigrid

Stockholm Data Parks vision is a data center industry where no heat is wasted. Data center excess heat is a valuable resource that can be part of fighting climate change. The City’s objective is to be entirely fossil fuel free by 2040, and data centers plays a key role in that transition.

We are happy to welcome the Multigrid Data Centers, part of Stockholm Data Parks to a vibrant Kista Science City! This is one of the first data center establishments within the framework of Stockholm Data Parks, if this works, it will contribute to the City’s decreased fossil energy dependency and make us an even more ”sustainable and connected city, and I´m glad that Kista Science city can be part of that journey, says Johan Ödmark, CEO of Kista Science City AB

En del av projektet handlar om att ta reda på vad Stockholmare tycker kring drönare – vilka use cases vill ni se, i vilka områden m.m.
