Computer and Systems Architecture (CaSA) Meetup:
Processor performance insights and optimization
On 6 November, the CaSA Meetup series continues in Kista, providing a platform for technical deep dives into Computer and Systems Architecture. This event focuses on Processor Performance Insights and Optimization, exploring cutting-edge processor design and real-world performance challenges.
Speakers
Bogdan Tanasa, Senior Software Engineer at Wind River: “The Intel processor tracer and its use cases”
Bogdan will discuss the Intel Processor Tracer (Intel PT), a powerful hardware-based feature for capturing detailed instruction execution. He’ll explore how Intel PT enables developers to trace program control flow and correlate it with performance events, helping optimize systems by tracking cache misses, execution stalls, and more.
Stefan Blixt, CEO of Telesis Innovation: “Why Moore’s law makes microcode a good idea”
This presentation will provide an overview of the Telesis Universal System-on-Chip (uSoC), a flexible processor design based on microprogrammed control. Targeted at the IoT/OT device market, the uSoC supports both high- and low-level processing. Stefan will explain how this design offers flexibility, high code density, and efficiency, making it well-suited for applications such as AI, media processing, and cost-sensitive embedded systems.
