Welcome to a new open seminar series at Extrality Lab, Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV). We invite representatives from both academia and industry to join and share their knowledge on current topics.
At the seminar, Noak Petersson, PhD student at DSV working in XR and accessibility, will present two short topics:
- AtomCraft: An educational VR experience and Accessibility in Extended Reality (XR)
AtomCraft is an educational VR experience, developed during this year’s Designing for Emerging Technologies course. It allows you to learn about atoms in an immersive way through virtual reality and tangible interactions. Noak Petersson will discuss educational experiences in VR, how we can use tangible interactions in VR experiences and the challenges that come with them.
For more information, take a look at the following repository - XR Accessibility: An early-stage research project where Noak Petersson is conducting a systematic literature review about accessibility perspectives in research, mainly focusing on the design process. He will cover questions like: What should we consider when designing XR experiences for individuals with disabilities? How can we ensure inclusive design practices for XR experiences? What do current trends look like in the field of XR accessibility and how can we improve it?
